Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground sausage pork or beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 small onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cups diced tomatoes no sugar added
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 cup green bell peppers chopped
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro chopped

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat
  2. Add sausage and cook until browned
  3. Remove excess grease if needed
  4. Add onion and sauté until soft, then add garlic
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes and beef broth
  6. Add green peppers and tomato paste
  7. Season with salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, and cumin
  8. Mix well and bring to a simmer
  9. Cook for 20–25 minutes until thickened and flavorful
  10. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
  11. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot

Notes

  • Use spicy sausage for extra heat
  • Add cheese or sour cream for creaminess
  • Adjust thickness with extra broth if needed
  • Let chili rest 5–10 minutes before serving for the best flavor
