- In a bowl whisk buttermilk and egg until combined.
- In another bowl mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip chicken pieces into the buttermilk mixture.
- Coat the chicken evenly in the seasoned flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the chicken for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
- In a small saucepan melt butter and stir in honey.
- Brush or drizzle the warm honey butter over the fried chicken.
- Serve immediately while crispy and hot.
Notes
- Let the coated chicken rest for 5 minutes before frying for extra crispiness.
- Use a thermometer to keep the oil around 350°F (175°C).
- Add a pinch of chili flakes to the honey butter for a spicy twist.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or coleslaw for a complete meal.
