Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water for dough
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 2 medium potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. In a bowl mix whole wheat flour, salt, and water to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl mix mashed potatoes, green chili, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, cilantro, and salt.
  5. Divide the dough into equal balls.
  6. Roll each ball slightly flat.
  7. Place a spoonful of the spiced filling in the center.
  8. Fold the dough around the filling and seal the edges.
  9. Roll gently into a flat round paratha.
  10. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  11. Cook the paratha until golden brown while brushing with oil or ghee.
  12. Flip and cook the other side until crispy and fully cooked.

Notes

  • Roll the paratha gently to prevent the filling from breaking through.
  • Adjust chili according to your spice preference.
  • Use ghee for extra flavor and crispiness.
  • Serve hot with yogurt, chutney, or pickle.
  • Leftover parathas can be reheated on a skillet.
