Chai Spiced Muffins Recipe

These Chai Spiced Muffins are warm, cozy, and packed with aromatic spices. Cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves create that classic chai flavor in every fluffy bite. They’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon coffee break. Add a simple glaze for extra sweetness.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk
  • Pinch cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Whisk flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
  5. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full with batter.
  6. Bake 16–20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool slightly before adding glaze if desired.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm muffins.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the muffins tender.
  • Use freshly ground spices for a stronger flavor.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking for extra crunch.
  • Store airtight up to 3 days or freeze up to 1 month.
