Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups mixed berries fresh or frozen
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly dough forms.
  4. Press half of the mixture firmly into the pan as the base.
  5. In another bowl, mix berries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  6. Spread the berry mixture evenly over the base.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use frozen berries without thawing to avoid excess moisture.
  • Let bars cool fully for clean slices.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
