Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles crumbs
- Add mashed banana, milk, and vanilla and mix gently
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Form dough into a circle and cut into 8 wedges
- Place on baking tray and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden
- Let cool slightly before serving
Notes
- Keep butter cold for flaky texture
- Do not overmix the dough to keep the scones soft
- Add nuts for extra crunch
- Serve warm with butter or jam
